How Do I Share My Business Card on LinkedIn?

Share your business card on LinkedIn by pasting its link into your Featured section, contact info, posts and messages. Steps from LinkedIn Help.

To share your business card on LinkedIn, copy your digital card’s link and add it to your profile’s Featured section, where visitors see it as a clickable preview. Then reuse the same link in your contact info, in posts and in direct messages after you meet someone. For in-person meetings, LinkedIn’s own QR code opens your profile, while your card’s QR code saves your contact details.

What you need before you start

You need a digital business card with a share link, and that link should stay the same when you edit the card. A link like https://qrcard.in/c/priya works; a PDF of a paper card works less well, since nobody can tap a phone number in a picture.

If you’re still deciding what goes on the card, start with what to put on a digital business card. Open the card on your phone first and check the save button works.

Where to share a business card on LinkedIn

There are four places to share a business card on LinkedIn, and each reaches a different person.

Placement Who sees it Best for
Featured section Anyone who opens your profile A permanent, visible link
Contact info Visitors who click your contact details People already looking for how to reach you
Direct message One person Follow-up after a meeting or call
Post Your network’s feed Announcing a new role or a new card

My take: Featured is the one that matters. Contact info is tucked away, and posts scroll off the feed in days. A Featured link sits near the top of your profile for as long as you leave it there.

The Featured section accepts links to external websites, so your card link can sit there with a preview. LinkedIn Help lists links to sites such as your personal blog or portfolio as allowed items, alongside posts, articles and uploaded media.

On desktop:

  1. Click the Me icon, then View Profile.
  2. Click Add profile section in your introduction section.
  3. Open Recommended and click Add Featured.
  4. Click the Add icon on the upper right of the Featured page and choose a link.
  5. Paste your card’s link, then click Save or Done.

On mobile, tap your profile photo, then View profile > Add section > Recommended > Add featured, pick the type, and tap Save or Done.

You need at least two featured items before you can reorder them, and a removed item can’t be restored. Keep a note of old links if you plan to swap them.

Your card link can also go in the contact section of your profile, which visitors open when they want to reach you. LinkedIn’s profile editing guide says to click the Me icon, open your Profile card, then click the Edit icon to the right of the section and Save.

On a mobile browser, LinkedIn notes that not every section is editable, but contact sections are. If LinkedIn rejects the link with a request for a valid URL, a Calendly community answer suggests removing the www. from the start of the address.

How to share the card in a message or post

For one person, send your card link in a LinkedIn direct message with a line that reminds them where you met. Something like: “Good to meet you at the Pune fintech meetup. Here’s my card so you have my number: https://qrcard.in/c/priya”. That beats a bare link, which reads like spam.

A post works when the news is the card itself, such as a new job or a new company. Paste the link, add a sentence on why people might need your details, and let LinkedIn build the preview. For the timing and tone of follow-ups, see digital business card etiquette.

LinkedIn QR code vs your digital business card QR code

A LinkedIn QR code opens your LinkedIn profile, while a digital business card QR code lets someone save your phone and email to their contacts. Carry both.

Per LinkedIn Help, each member has a unique QR code. On iPhone, tap the QR code in the search bar, then the My code tab, where you can Share my code or Save to photos. On Android, the MY CODE tab offers SAVE TO GALLERY. A scan lands them on your profile, and they still have to connect and dig for your number.

Your card’s QR code skips that step. It opens the card in a browser, and the save button adds you to their contacts. If you’re sharing in person, this guide to sharing contact info with a QR code covers the scanning side.

What about LinkedIn’s own business card?

LinkedIn announced its own digital business card in October 2026, with a headshot, job role and a QR code, which you can add to a digital wallet. Social Media Today reported that it is rolling out globally over the coming months, so you may not have it yet.

That card is built from your LinkedIn profile, which suits people whose whole network lives on LinkedIn. If you want to share a phone number, a booking link or your own website with people who barely use LinkedIn, keep a separate card. Its link can still sit in your Featured section.

How QRCard handles this

QRCard gives you a share link and a QR code you can paste into LinkedIn, and on Pro it adds a LinkedIn share button. Your link looks like https://qrcard.in/c/yourname, and because the profile is live, editing your details doesn’t change it. Your Featured link keeps working after a job change.

People who open it need no app, and Save Contact gives them a .vcf file for their phone. On Pro and Team, Mutual Exchange lets them send their details back to you. The limit: QRCard doesn’t post to LinkedIn or touch your LinkedIn profile. You paste the link yourself. If you also put the card in your email signature, the same link covers both.

FAQ

Can I upload a business card image to LinkedIn?

Yes. The Featured section accepts uploaded images and documents, so a photo or PDF of your card works. A link to a digital card is more useful, because people can tap it and save your details.

Does LinkedIn have its own digital business card?

Yes. In October 2026 LinkedIn announced a business card you can design and add to your digital wallet. It shows your headshot, job role and a QR code, and is rolling out globally over the coming months.

What happens when someone scans my LinkedIn QR code?

They are taken to your LinkedIn profile. Scanning doesn’t add your phone number or email to their contacts.

If LinkedIn asks for a valid URL, try removing the www. from the start of the link, which fixed it for one user adding a booking link.
